The prosecution is likely to file its reply on the bail application, filed by accused Anil Waghmode, next week. Waghmode had filed a bail application on medical grounds. Meanwhile, president of Mumbai Press Club met Vora in the court on Tuesday. "We were just concerned about the safety and security of Vora. We went there to enquire if she had a legal counsel to represent her," Gurubir Singh, president of the Mumbai Press Club said.
Vora, deputy bureau chief of The Asian Age, was arrested on November 25 under the MCOCA, on charges of providing vital information, like supplying licence plate number of the motorcycle and address of the slain journalist to Rajan. Dey was shot dead outside his house at Powai in Mumbai on June 11, 2011.
On December 3, the police had filed chargesheets against the arrested accused -- Rohee Thangappan Joseph alias Satish Kalya, Abhijeet Shinde, Arun Dake, Sachin Gaikwad, Anil Waghmode, Nilesh Shendge, Mangesh Agawane, Vinod Asrani, Paulson Joseph and Deepak Sisodia.
The police have alleged that Rajan was upset with two articles written by Dey, which portrayed him in bad light and hence by murdering the journalist, he wanted to send a message to the media that those who write against him would be targeted.
According to the 3,055-page chargesheet, Vora had instigated the overseas-based underworld don to kill Dey due to professional rivalry. A supplementary chargesheet would be filed at a later date against Vora, the eleventh arrested accused in the case, the police have said.
