The Indira Gandhi National Open University invites applications for admission to courses in Bachelor of Information Technology and Advance Diploma in Information Technology.
In its dynamic initiative through Virtual Campus, IGNOU is offering these two programmes, commencing July 2004.
BIT
A three-year degree programme incorporating the curriculum of BTEC/HND from the UK. Students who complete BIT are eligible to enter the third semester of IGNOU's MCA programme.
Eligibility for admission to BIT is 10+2 through any recognised Board.
ADIT
A one-year programme sponsored by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India. Students who complete ADIT are eligible to enter the third semester of IGNOU's MCA programme.
Eligibility for admission to ADIT is a Bachelor's degree from any recognised/deemed university.
The information brochure and application forms for both these programmes can be obtained from the Registrar (SRE), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi -- 110068 and all the Regional Centres and Tele-Learning Centres whose addresses are given below, by sending a sum of Rs 350 through a DD/IPO in favour of IGNOU, payable at the city from where the information brochure and application form is required by post OR by paying Rs 300 in cash at the respective sale counters. Please write your name, address and the name of the programme (BIT/ADIT) at the back of the DD/IPO. The request for the information brochure and application form by post along with DD/IPO must reach on or before June 16.
The information brochure and application form is also available on the Web site at www.ignou.ac.in. It can be downloaded and submitted with a demand draft for Rs 300 in favour of IGNOU, payable in New Delhi.
The filled-in application form should be sent to Director (SOCIS), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi -- 110068 so as to reach on or before June 30.
The University will award 3,000 South Asia Foundation -- Madanjeet Singh scholarships for postgraduate and vocational training programmes. Students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds shall be selected for these scholarships on the basis of their past academic record and interview.
