All India Entrance Examination for admission to 25% open merit seats in MD/MS/PG Diploma & MDS courses in Medical & Dental Colleges

The All India Institute of Medical Science, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi 110 029, invites applications in the prescribed form for the All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE 2004) to be conducted on Sunday,  January 11, 2004, for admission to 25% seats in various postgraduate (MD/MS/PG Diploma & MDS) courses in medical and dental colleges in the country run by the Union of India, state governments (except the governments of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and municipal or other local authorities.

Eligibility criteria: 1. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. 2. The candidate must possess an MBBS/BDS degree from a recognized medical/dental college or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and full registration either form the Medical/Dental Council of India or State Medical/Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating Internship. 3. Candidates who have obtained an MBBS/BDS degree from medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh or Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (ministry of health & family welfare/DGHS, New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus. 4. The candidates should complete the required period of pre-registration internship in a recognized hospital by March 31, 2004.

Prospectus-cum-application form costing Rs 500 (Rs 400 in case of SC/ST candidates), which is inclusive of examination fee, can be obtained in the following manner:

i. Against cash payment from any of the following branches of State Bank of India from September 22 to October 20, 2003:

Andhra Pradesh: Hyderabad (Begum Bazar), Vishakhapatnam; Arunachal Pradesh: Itanagar; Assam: Guwahati; Bihar: Chamdoria House, Patna; Chandigarh: Punjab University Branch; Chhattisgarh: Raipur (Ravi Shankar University); Dadra & Nagar Haveli: Silvassa; Jharkhand: Main Road, Ranchi; New Delhi: Ansari Nagar, Preet Vihar, Parliament Street, Tilak Nagar, Kalkaji, Delhi University; Goa: 8th June Road, Panaji; Gujarat: Ahmedabad (Gujarat University); Baroda (Main Branch); Himachal Pradesh: Shimla; Jammu & Kashmir: Hari Market, Jammu; Karnataka: Bangalore (St Mark's Road); Kerala: Thiruvananthapuram (Main Branch MG Road), Kochi, Kottayam, Trichur; Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal (Bhopal University), Lashkar, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Indore; Maharashtra: Mumbai-Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Powai (IIT), Pune, Nagpur, Yavatmal; Manipur: Imphal; Meghalaya: Shillong; Mizoram: Aizawl; Nagaland: Kohima; Orissa: Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack; Pondicherry, Punjab: Amritsar, Civil Lines, Ludhiana; Rajasthan: Tonk Road, Jaipur; Sikkim: Gangtok; Tamil Nadu: Madras University, Chennai, Adyar, Guindy Road, Chennai, Mylapore, Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tripura: Agartala, Uttar Pradesh: Sector-2, Noida, Navyug Market, Ghaziabad, Motimahal Marg, Lucknow, CSA University, Kanpur, BHU, Varanasi Uttranchal: Dehradun West Bengal: Park Street, Kolkata, Kalighat, SPM Road, Kolkata.

ii. The forms can also be obtained by Speed Post/Registered Post by sending a crossed Bank Draft for Rs 550 (Rs 450 for SCs/STs) drawn in favour of the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi. The bank draft issued by SBI branches should be payable at the State Bank of India, Service Branch (Code NO 7687), New Delhi and should be valid up to March 2004. Indian Postal Orders, Money Orders, Cheques or Cash will not be accepted for postal sale. The request should reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, AIIMS, New Delhi 110 029 on or before October 20, 2003.

The address at which the application form is required should be written clearly in capital letters and with PIN code. The following words should be written on top of the envelope: 'Request for Prospectus-Cum-Application Form for AIPGMEE-2004.' AIMS will not be responsible for delay in/non-receipt of application form caused by illegible or incomplete address.

Important: 1. Candidates must obtain application forms only from an authorized branch of SBI or by post from the Examination Section of AIIMS. Forms obtained from an unauthorized source will be rejected. 2. Candidates are advised to procure blank application forms as early as possible. If copies of application forms are sold out before the last date of sale and the same are not available, AIIMS/SBI or its specified branches will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms. If a candidates does not get the form through the Post Office in time, AIIMS will not be responsible for such lapses.

Schedule of sale of prospectus-cum-application forms:

1. Against cash payment from above listed branches of SBI (except SBI, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi): September 22 to October 20, 2003.

2. Against cash payment from SBI, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi: September 22 to October 27, 2003.

3. By post against Bank Draft from the office of Assistant Controller of Examinations, AIIMS: September 22 to October 20, 2003.

4. Last date for receipt of completed application forms: October 27, 2003 by 5 pm.

Note: After the last date, applications received by courier or by any other means will not be accepted, irrespective of the date of booking.
