Bachelor Of Technology (BTech) In Applied Petroleum Engineering 

The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies is a statutory university established through an act of the state legislature, Government of Uttaranchal, at Dehradun. It will be India's first university dedicated exclusively for petroleum and energy studies.

The following courses would be available for students desirous of enrolling themselves for the academic year 2003-2004 through full time/part time/distance learning curriculum.

To equip professionals with knowledge necessary to operate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams in the petroleum industry. Covering basic sciences, mathematics, engineering and applied fields in the petroleum engineering area, the course prepares graduates who can work effectively in a challenging environment, whether upstream, midstream or downstream.

Duration: Four years. Full Time.

Eligibility: 10+2 from recognized board in science with PCM

Admission Basis: Through Petroleum Engineering Aptitude Test or Direct Admission. 

Master of Technology (M Tech) Gas Engineering

This course will help in gaining professional competence and develop advanced levels of expertise in Gas Engineering and Processing including the areas of CNG and LNG.

Duration:  Two years. Full Time. Part Time: 3 years.

Eligibility: Engineering graduates from a recognized university.

Admission Basis: Merit of Last Qualifying Exam.

M Sc in Oil Economics

For scientists, engineers, technologists and economists who wish to gain and upgrade knowledge of the economic and policy dimensions of the oil and gas industry. Professional skills in economics, risk management, options and derivatives are part of the curriculum of the course.

Duration:  One-and-a-half years. Full Time. Part Time: 2 years.

Eligibility: Graduates in Economics/Commerce, Business Studies, Engineering from a recognized university or professional qualifications like CA/CFA/ICWA.

Admission Basis: Merit of Last Qualifying Exam.

MBA (Oil and Gas Management)

This course will develop future managers/professionals for the oil and gas industry. Focus will be on increasing the understanding of the business through practical applications underpinned by relevant academic theory including Business Management, Petro Finance & Petro Economics, Petro Retail & Marketing, etc.

Duration:  Two years. Full Time. Part Time: 3 years.

Eligibility: Graduate from a recognized university.

Admission Basis: Through Petroleum Management Aptitude Test or Direct Admission.

LLM in Petroleum Law & Policy

For legal professionals holding an LLB degree and wanting to pursue a career in the petroleum industry. This course will provide in-depth knowledge of the legal and policy framework pertaining to the industry in view of the ever-increasing regulatory and legislative environment in the petroleum sector. Also useful to lawyers currently advising oil and gas companies.

Duration: Two years. Full Time.

Eligibility: Law Graduate

Admission Basis: Merit of Last Qualifying Exam.

MBA (Oil and Gas Management)

Eligibility: 70% in CAT/MAT or Graduate Engineers with 70% marks OR candidate holding professional qualifications such as CA/CS/ICWA.

Bachelor of Technology (Applied Petroleum Engineering)

Eligibility: All India Engineering Entrance Exam with 70% mark or XII with 75% mark in Physics, Chemistry & Maths.

Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline with 50% of marks (45% for Reserve Category)
