Three terrorists were killed when troops foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in the Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district early Saturday morning.
A defence spokesman said troops detected a group of infiltrators trying to sneak in through the LoC.
"The group of infiltrators was challenged following which they opened fire. So far three terrorists have been killed," defence spokesman Lt Col J S Brar said.
He said the 'operation was still continuing'.
On Thursday, security forces had gunned down three Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists during an encounter in the Maloora village on the outskirts of capital Srinagar.
