Indian American Rajan Zed has been appointed to the Nevada state regional transportation commission citizen's advisory committee for a three-year term, reflecting the increasing political clout of the community in the United States.
This committee provides input on policy issues relative to public transportation, regional streets and highway system, and transportation planning.

Zed was elected unopposed in the last US mid-term elections to the office of general improvement district trustee of Verdi TV district in the state. He was a journalist in India before migrating to the US.
