India-Pakistan war over LoC issue is undesirable: Kejriwal

January 16, 2013 19:49 IST

Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that what the Pakistan Army had done to two Indian soldiers at the Line of Control was totally inhuman and unpardonable, but war should not take place between the two nations on the issue.

"Whatever Pakistan has done is totally inhuman and cannot be justified. India should deal with the situation in a stern manner but a war should not take place between the two countries on the issue," Kejriwal told reporters.

Kejriwal was answering a question on BJP's Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj's statement that ten Pakistanis should be beheaded in retaliation for one Indian head.

AAP's National Executive Member Sanjay Singh said that after Army Chief General Bikram Singh's statement -- that the army will respond to the situation at an appropriate time and at a place of its choice -- parties should not play politics with such a sensitive issue.

"The country should respect and have faith in the army chief's words," Singh said.

Kejriwal also said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the army chief should have visited the village of the two martyred soldiers to share their families' grief.

Kejriwal said that his party will contest the Delhi assembly elections and take an appropriate decision about contesting polls in other states after discussions with its newly formed state units.
