India and Pak troops exchange sweets along LoC

Indian and Pakistani troops deployed along the Line of Control exchanged sweets and dry fruits on Friday, on the occasion of Diwali, at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Soon after the gates of Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point opened around 1100 hours, Indian troops led by Colonel V P Kristopal, handed over boxes of sweets and dry fruits

to their Pakistani counterparts as a goodwill gesture on Diwali, officials said in Jammu.

From the Pakistani side, troops led by Colonel Omar Gul also handed over packets of sweets and dry fruits to Indian army officers.

During the brief function, Colonel Gul expressed greetings and good wishes to the people of India on behalf of his unit and citizens of Pakistan, officials said.
