India, Pak Armies hold flag-meeting

India and Pakistan on Wednesday held a flag-meeting for ensuring calm and peace along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"A Flag Meeting at Battalion Commander's level was held between India and Pakistan at 1130 hours today along LoC at the Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point near Poonch,"  defence spokesman S N Acharya said.

"Both delegations were led by Colonel-level Officers and discussed ceasefire violations and the need to abide by the tenets of the existing ceasefire agreement between the two countries," the spokesman said.

The talks were held in a cordial environment and both sides have agreed to give due consideration to the issues raised by the other side, he said, adding that this meeting

was proposed by the Indian side with an aim to restore peace and calm along the Line of Control.
