Amidst rumours of her joining politics, actress Juhi Chawla has cleared the air saying she neither intends to contest an election nor is interested in joining politics.
There was a buzz that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was mulling over launching Juhi as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in the Gujarat Assembly elections scheduled in December this year, fielding her against Congress member of Legislative Assembly Arjun Modhwadia.
"I am in another space. I don't think I will be able to connect with them. I am not joining politics. I don't intend to contest election. I am happy to be back to doing normal things, be it films or other work," Juhi told PTI.
Surprised over such rumours, she said, "I was in Uganda holidaying with family when I got to know about this. I was totally away, cut out off from things happening here (India). There was no idea of me joining politics. All I can say is Jay's (Juhi's husband) family has a commendable respect in Porbandar."
Meanwhile, Juhi is looking forward to the release of India's first animated stereoscopic feature film Krishna Aur Kans. The 44-year-old actress has done the voiceover of Krishna's mother Yashoda in the film.
Krishna Aur Kans has been written by Kamlesh Pandey and directed by Vikram Veturi.
