If you can't bring the corrupt to book, vacate CM's chair: Amit Shah tells Mamata

Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah, who is on two-day visit to West Bengal to address the party cadre said at a rally that party wants a huge victory in the 2016 assembly elections in Kolkata.

“Singur affected Rs 100,000, Saradha affected 17 lakh. If Singur brought in change in governance in the state, can't Saradha do the same? Don't leave an inch of space to the Trinamool Congress government of West Bengal,” Shah told BJP workers at the rally at Bowbazar in Kolkata.

“Communists made Bengal politically and socially bankrupt for 35 years. Then Singur and Nandigram happened and Bengal ushered in a new government led by the TMC,” he said. “But now the people of Bengal have realised that both the Left and TMC are equally bad,” he added.

Didi (Mamata) must not waste too much time thinking about the migrants. She should concentrate on improving the state. Why aren't you going on hunger strike for the sake of people affected by the Saradha scam, Didi?” he said.

“Didi, fight corruption, bring your corrupt men to book. If you can't do that, vacate the chief minister's post. And, if you don't step aside, the people of Bengal will show you the door in 2016.They have had enough!” he said.

“The people of Bengal have given a chance to the Congress, the Left and the TMC. Now the BJP should also be given a chance,” Shah said.
