People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Madani was arrested by the Karnataka police in Kollam, Kerala on Tuesday for his alleged role in the Bengaluru blasts.

Earlier, while addressing a press conference, Madani had said, "I have no connection with the Bengaluru blasts."

He said he was ready to surrender to the police and "my next move will be only according to the law".

He added that he had full faith in the judiciary and claimed that he had not yet received a copy of the arrest warrant.

"When I read about the warrant in the papers, I talked to my lawyers and I applied for anticipatory bail. I am reading about the developments in the case in the newspapers," Madani said.

The deadline for the execution of the warrant issued by a local court for Madani's arrest was set to expire today evening.
