Hyderabad city police, which was on a high alert for the past one week against a possible terrorist attack, has arrested a suspected Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative.

City Police Commissioner A K Khan said Zialul Haq, a taxi driver by profession, was trained in Pakistan and was planning to carry out blasts in Hyderabad.

Khan said Haq was wanted in connection with a blast in Odeon theatre in Secunderabad but fled to Saudi Arabia while studying in junior college. Later, he was recruited and trained by LeT.

Haq, who originally hails from Khanapur town of Adilabad district, was arrested in Karnataka's Gulbarga city.

Khan said police was looking for Haq's accomplices.
