Two HUJI terrorists arrested in Lucknow

Two terrorists of Harkat-ul- Jihad Al Islam were arrested by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police from two different places on Thursday along with RDX, detonators and timer devices, police said.

"Mohammad Yaqoob alias Shakir and Nasir alias Chotu are residents of Bijnore district of the state and were planning to carry out subversive activities in the capital," state police chief G L Sharma told reporters.

While Yaqoob was arrested from Charbagh area, Nasir was nabbed near a lodge in Naka area in the city on Thursday afternoon.

Sharma said seven kilograms of RDX were recovered from the duo besides five detonator wires, three improvised watches with timer wires, batteries and remote switches.
