A multi-tier security cover has been put in place in the city for the swearing-in tomorrow of the Mufti Mohammed Sayeed-led Bharatiya Janata Party-Peoples Democratic Party government with the ceremony to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Massive security arrangement has been made in and around Jammu city for the swearing-in ceremony and Prime Minister's visit,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Uttam Chand.

The swearing-in-ceremony will be held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium at JammuUniversity.

The venue has been declared out of bounds for the public and sanitation operations with metal detectors and sniffer dogs have been launched while an SPG team is already in Jammu for the function.

A meeting was held by the Chief Secretary on Saturday to review the measures, said Shant Manu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Division.

Meanwhile, in Jammu city, over 200 to 300 municipal workers have been deputed to clean the various areas of the city, particularly that around JammuUniversity.

Watched by Modi, 79-year-old Sayeed will take oath as the J-K Chief Minister along with 12 members each from PDP and BJP. BJP's Nirmal Singh is expected to be the Deputy Chief Minister.

The two parties were engaged in intense negotiations since December, after the elections threw up a hung Assembly, as part of efforts to put together a coalition government on the basis of a Common Minimum Programme, which will be released tomorrow.

The CMP will cover all controversial issues like Article 370, Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act and resettlement of West Pakistan Refugees.
