Hope new govt continues Haryana's growth momentum: Hooda

October 19, 2014 15:16 IST

Conceding defeat in Haryana, the Congress party on Sunday expressed their hope that the new dispensation will continue the growth momentum that the state witnessed during its decade long rule.

"A new government is going to come. I hope they will maintain the growth momentum of Haryana," outgoing Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said.

Hooda said he accepts the people's verdict.

"It is democracy. Last time we got the verdict. This time it is the Bharatiya Janata Party," he said.

He, however, did not credit ‘Modi-wave’ for the poll results.

"Modi did campaign for his party. That is usual," he said downplaying Prime Minister Narendra Modi's contribution in BJP's success in the state.

The BJP has won 10 seats and was leading in 42 others in the 90-member Haryana Assembly.
