Gurdwara shooting: Radio dispatches unfold tense situation

Emergency radio dispatches among United States police officials have brought to light the tense situation and sequence of events unfolding at a Gurdwara in Wisconsin, where a gunman had opened fire and killed six worshippers.

The radio traffic was captured at a website called Radio Reference, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

The first report on the scanner at 10.27 am was of "an altercation."

"There is a lot of noise and I am unable to get much info," the dispatcher says.

A minute later, the dispatcher adds, "A bald man with glasses may have shot someone. I am going to dispatch fire department."

An officer comes on the air at 10.30 am, "Give me an ambulance," he says.

A few minutes later, an officer says there is a man with a gun in a white T-shirt. Gunshots can be heard in the background.

An officer tells the dispatcher they need mutual aid from Franklin police.

A female officer follows up, saying she is approaching the subject who is not moving.

Another officer quickly yells, "Subject down! Subject down! We have one officer shot."
