Gujarat encounter: Cop admits to involvement

The Gujarat government on Monday informed the Supreme Court that one of the police officers arrested in the fake encounter killing case has confessed to his involvement in Sohrabuddin's murder.

In an Action Taken Report submitted to the Apex Court, Inspector General of Police Geeta Johri said that three more police officers have been arrested in connection with the fake encounter killings.

More arrests are likely, Johri said in her report. She also said that the role of the Andhra Pradesh police was also being investigated and a report would also be submitted on the issue.
