Police personnel in Gujarat cast their votes for the upcoming state assembly elections on Sunday.

Speaking in Jamnagar on Sunday, S J Bhinde, a policeman, said, "I think the Election Commission has for the first time since Independence made such an arrangement where we security personnel can also cast our vote. We used to be on election duty earlier and we did not get the chance to vote. As you can see all the senior and junior security personnel are queuing up to vote. At the end of the day we are also citizens and have a right to vote. We are happy that we got this opportunity."

Meanwhile, in Surat, Harsh Sanghvi, a BJP candidate, said, "To convey our message to the people, we are using the technology and communication tool. Through this we have got in touch with thousands of people. They have a lot of queries and we are answering them properly."

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is looking forward to serve a third consecutive term in office in the state.

Gujarat will go to the polls in two phases on December 13 and 17. The counting of votes will take place on December 20.
