Mohammed Hussain Kalota, an accused in the Godhra train carnage, will be taken to Godhra on Sunday to attend the 'nikaah' (marriage) of his eldest daughter Maqsuda, official sources in Ahmedabad said.

Kalota was arrested by Godhra police in connection with the burning of S-6 coach of the Sabarmati express on February 27, 2002, in which 59 persons were charred to death.

He is a former president of Godhra municipality and was granted interim bail by a special Prevention of Terrorism Act court in Ahmedabad on May 21, after his wife, Haseena, moved an application seeking a six-day bail for him.

Kalota will attend the marriage to take place at Jahurpura Masjid and another ceremony at Polan Bazaar area in Godhra.
