"The government is there neither to protect or punish anyone. The matter is subjudice and being investigated by the police of a different state," he said about the alleged suicide case in connection with which former Minister of State for Home Gopal Goyal Kanda is in police custody.
"Those who are levelling false allegations against the state government that it wants to avoid the (Kanda) issue in the ongoing session of state assembly, should first look at themselves before levelling false allegations," Hooda told reporters at the end of the opening session of the assembly, which was marred by pandemonium.
When his attention was drawn towards the allegation
levelled by the Opposition that the members of the treasury benches were avoiding issues, Hooda said that there was no truth in it.
The Haryana assembly witnessed pandemonium as INLD members remained adamant that their adjournment on Kanda issue be taken up.
"The Opposition did not behave properly. This is not a healthy trend. I have also remained an member of Parliament on four occasions, but never witnessed such behaviour... It was very astonishing that they did not listen to the Speaker and they used such a language which creates rift. The House had to be adjourned thrice, but they did not let it function," he said.
Replying to a question, Hooda said that Speaker Kuldeep Sharma would look into issue of alleged casteist remarks uttered by INLD Member of Legislative Assembly  Abhay Singh Chautala against Chief Parliamentary Secretary and ruling MLA, Jaiveer Balmiki in the ongoing session of the State Assembly, adding the Speaker would pass orders on the issue.
