Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will arrive in Islamabad at 10 am on Thursday and she will have her first meeting with her Pakistan counterpart Salman Bashir later that evening. The two full delegations will then have two sessions on Friday.

The Thimpu spirit seems to be continuing despite the many hiccups like the most recent standoff in which the Indian naval ship Godavari bumped into the Pakitani navy's Babbar triggering a diplomatic row.

Pakistan High Commissioner to India Sahid Malik told rediff.com, "I have conveyed told a goodwill message from Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik to Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram, whose chopper developed trouble during a visit to Kashmir."

In a significant five Pakistani boys, aged between 10 and 21, have been released Indian authorities and will be flying to Karachi. These boys were stranded in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh for the last 10 years due to red tape. They have been detained for overstaying their visas.

Malik also said five Indian and Pakistani sailors will be exchanged as a goodwill gesture ahead of foreign secretary-level talks.
