An Ahmedabad court on Wednesday sentenced three persons to four years imprisonment for stabbing a pregnant woman to death during the post-Godhra communal riots.

City and sessions court judge D T Soni sentenced Varyansinh Bhatia, Manjitsinh Varyansinh and Rajesh Koshti for the murder of Naseembibi Safar Ali, Additional Public Prosecutor Mrugesh Shah said.

The three were part of a crowd that attacked minorities in Madhavpura area of the city and killed the woman.

The case was one of those related to the post-Godhra riots, which were re-opened for investigation as per Supreme Court directives.
