October 24, 2008 14:49 IST

Taking suo-moto cognisance of the German minor rape case, the Bombay high court on Friday issued a notice to the Goa police seeking details into the sensational case in which relatives of some minister's are allegedly involved.

Chief Justice of the Bombay high court Swatenter Kumar on Friday issued the notice to the Goa police directing them to file their reply by November 11.

The mother of the minor victim had on October 2 accused Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte's son Rohit of raping her 14-year-old daughter following which the Goa police, after an initial delay, booked him on October 14.

The victim's mother also told the police on Thursday that State Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao's nephew Warren Alemao had also sexually abused her daughter.

The German woman, who is in Goa for a research project, had charged Warren of raping her daughter and her lawyer Aires Rodrigues had claimed that he has a photograph of the girl in compromising position with Warren which was traced from the Internet.

However, Warren claimed innocence and said he would file a defamation case against the victim's mother and her lawyer for involving him in the case.

"I don't even know the girl. I don't know why I am being targeted. I have never met the girl," he said, at a media briefing on Thursday along with his uncle, Churchill Alemao.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of the victim's mother has stuck to his charges and said that she will officially file a complaint against Warren on Friday. "I will produce the photograph before the media, if required," he said.

While Warren has expressed innocence, Rohit is still missing.
