"Like we talk about the Thimphu spirit after the two prime ministers' meeting in Bhutan last year, today we have a Mohali spirit, an extremely positive and encouraging spirit," said Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao summing up the meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of the world cup semi-final clash between the two countries at Mohali on Wednesday.

Rao informed media persons about the invitations

extended by Gilani to Dr Singh and to the Indian cricket team to tour Pakistan.

"The intention of both countries is to stay in touch and keep up the contact. Both prime ministers spoke to the guests present at the dinner and they emphasised how good the sporting contacts are good and once they are resumed the positive attitude it creates," Rao said

"The game of cricket provided impetus to the meeting," she added.
