Wonder of wonders. Rajesh Pratap Singh, one of India's most elusive designers (after Shahab Durazi), finally braved hordes of reporters at the post show press conference -- a norm after every showing where designers interact with the press.
That has surely got to make more news than his collection!
As for the clothes, rediff.com had a whiff of his collection at the fittings session, where the mood was dark, mysterious and surreal. The designer's theme -- Giger (after Swiss surrealist artist H R Giger) goes to Varanasi to meet the cult of Shiva, was well personified -- in what he showed.
A profusion of reds, blacks, dark browns dominated the designer's collection, lending an air of intrigue and sultry sensuality. Note how the designer has carefully blackened his model's face to add to the surreal look.
