The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption officials on Tuesday conducted raids on the premises of former Intelligence chief MS Jaffer Sait and other officials in connection with the Tamil Nadu Housing Board land allotment case.

The residences of Sait, who headed the state intelligence wing in the previous Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam regime, DMK chief M Karunanidhi's Personal security officers P Pandian, C Ganesan, C Vinothan and Indian Administrative Service officer K Rajamanickam, one of the secretaries to Karunanidhi when he was Chief Minister, were raided, department sources said.

DVAC sources said first information reports had been filed against family members of the officials whose premises had been raided, as the land/plots allotted to them under Tamil Nadu Housing Board under the government's discretionary quota had been registered in their name.

FIRs had been filed for misappropriation of housing board land against Parveen Jaffar, wife of Jaffer Sait, Jeyasudha, wife of Kamaraj, one of the Personal Security Officers to then Chief Minister Karunanidhi, Durga Shankar, son of IAS officer Rajamanickam and  Meena, wife of Pandian, they said.

FIRs were filed against Vinothan and Ganesan as the land had been allotted against their name itself, they said.
