Representatives of some more companies, believed to have invested in the businesses firms of YSR Congress chief and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, on Wednesday appeared before Central Bureau of Investigation in Hyderabad, sources said.
According to them, two more companies have on Wednesday filed their response to the CBI notices served on them after presenting their views and documents before the investigating officials.
It is learnt that eleven companies have till date appeared before the CBI Joint Director (Hyderabad Zone) V V Lakshmi Narayana since the notices were served on them on July 16.
Andhra Pradesh High Court had recently directed the apex investigating agency to submit within two weeks a preliminary report into the allegations of Jagan having misused the office of his father, late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, to get investments for his business empire from various beneficiary companies.
Following the directive, the CBI had issued notices to as many as 20 as firms, believed to have invested in the entities owned by Jagan. It was still unclear if some more firms, including those owned by Jagan himself, were served notices.
Some TDP members and those from ruling Congress had filed complaints against Jagan accusing him of misusing the office of his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy during the latter's tenure between 2004 and 2009.
It is alleged the Kadapa MP acquired assets estimated to be hundreds of crores from various companies and individuals as a quid-pro-quo for the land allotted and licences granted to them at a throwaway prices.
