Two months after the "issuance" of fake death certificates in the names of a Tamil Nadu Minister and a member of Legislative Assembly by the city corporation, a birth certificate in the name of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has come to fore, sparking demands for a probe into the functioning of e-governance services of the civic body.

A group of advocates on Monday complained to the district officials about the latest 'certificate' which they said had the Madurai Corporation seal and serial number.

The advocates led by Muthukumar said the certificate issued on May 20, 2013 did not have the signature of any official, though the paper and seal were genuine materials used by the corporation.

They demanded serious action against the erring officials.

As per the certificate, Kejriwal was born on December 27, 1970 at K Pudur in Madurai and Ramji Rao Gaekwad and Geeta Devi have been mentioned as the father and mother respectively.

The surfacing of the Kejriwal certificate is a further embarrassment to the city corporation whose officials had faced flak after the 'death' certificates were issued in the

names of Minister for Cooperation Sellur K Raju and Communist Party of India-Marxist MLA from Madurai South R Annadurai in September last.

On a complaint from the corporation that some unidentified persons had gained entry into the computer room and issued the fake certificates, the cyber crime police investigated the matter and arrested three persons.

The police had said the incident was a fallout of rivalry between two contractors for IT projects with the corporation.
