Noor Mohd appointed deputy election commissioner

Noor Mohammed, chief electoral officer of Uttar Pradesh, has been appointed deputy election commissioner, official sources said in New Delhi on Tuesday.

An Indian Administrator Service officer, Mohammed had served as CEO of UP for nearly eight-and-a-half years.

He will replace S Mendiratta, who has been repatriated to his home state cadre in Meghalaya, the sources said.
