18,000 cops will guard B'luru tonight

Ahead of a very specific threat that terrorists may attack Bengaluru City on New Year's eve, the administration has deployed 18,000 policemen to guard the city.Police Commissioner Shankar Bidri asked all citizens to remain alert and inform the police about anything suspicious.

In addition to this, the quick response team Force One has been deployed and they will be supported by a 200 member strong commando force in addition to the Rapid Action Force and Karnataka State Reserve Police.

Earlier this week, the Chief Minister has chaired a special meeting of all the police personnel ahead of the terror threat. The meeting was convened in the wake of the Intelligence Bureau stating that Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists may try and target the city.

In addition to this, CM BS Yeddyurappa also tweeted by the that four LeT men who were being hunted by the Mumbai police could have entered Bengaluru to launch an attack.
