'Disappointed' PM not talking 'tantra mantra' anymore: JD-U

November 03, 2015 12:23 IST

Days after releasing an old photograph of the meeting between the Prime Minister and self-styled god man Asaram Bapu, the Janata Dal-United on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the saffron camp resorting to the tactics of 'tantra mantra' and black magic.

JD-U leader Ajay Alok said that the latest developments clearly indicate that the BJP has accepted defeat in Bihar.

"Modi is having a good chat with Asaram Bapu. Asaram is calling him the 'Shiva'. What will happen if we have gods like him (Narendra Modi)?" Alok told ANI.

"The prime minister is now disappointed and stressed. He did three rallies yesterday, but after we released the video he didn't talk about black magic and 'tantra mantra'. Why is he is not answering on astrologer Bejan Daruwalla? Why is he not answering as to why he gave 50 acres of land to Asaram in Gujarat?" he asked.

The JD-U leader alleged that the BJP formed the government at the Centre in 2014 by taking donations from Pakistan but the prime minister has not issued any clarification in this regard.

“Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu have said that Amit Shah will continue his term as party president even if the BJP loses in Bihar. It all shows that the party has accepted its defeat in Bihar. On November 8, the people of Bihar will throw them (BJP) out of the state," he added.

Earlier on Sunday, the JD-U showed an old photograph of Modi meeting Asaram, who is currently lodged in jail in connection with a rape case.

The BJP had earlier released a video which showed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar meeting and hugging a tantrik. In the video, the tantrik is heard saying 'jindabad, Lalu murdabad' to Nitish.
