The Shettar faction, which had abstained from Gowda's swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, received a dressing down from leaders in New Delhi. They were advised to cooperate with the new leader and work as one party and not two factions.
Following this, pleasantries had been exchanged at Gowda's residence and the two factions claim that the issue had been resolved.
In the next couple of days, the BJP will submit a list of cabinet ministers to Governor HR Bhardwaj. A crucial meeting to finalise the list will be held on Sunday.
