With five more persons succumbing to dengue, the toll in the mosquito-borne disease in Orissa rose to 14 on Monday, official sources said.

Five deaths were reported from hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. While 11 of the dengue victims belonged to the worst-affected Angul district, one each death was reported from Balangir, Dhenkanal and Kendrapara district, sources said.

195 people have been affected by dengue in 18 districts of the state. More blood samples have been sent for examination, the sources said.

A three-member central team is currently visiting Angul district to take stock of the situation while the state government has deputed senior officials and doctors to the area.
