The Pakistan army once again violated the bilateral ceasefire in the Pallanwala sector near Jammu yet again on late on Friday night, on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the Kargil War.

“There was unprovoked small-arms firing from Pakistan in the Pallanwala sector from 23.10 hours to 23.15 hours. Our troops responded appropriately,” a defence spokesperson said.

This is the second ceasefire violation in the Jammu region in the last 24 hours. The Pakistan army was firing at the Mendhar sector in Poonch on Friday evening.

India and Pakistan had agreed to bilateral ceasefire in November 2003.
