Indigenous 155 mm artillery guns, made on the lines of Swedish Bofors howitzers procured by the army in the 1980s, will go for last round of trials at Pokhran firing ranges along the Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan next month.
This would be the last round of firing trials of the guns made on the lines of the Bofors howitzers.
The 155 mm and 45 calibre guns underwent successful winter trials in Sikkim in March.
Maximum effective firing range of the improved and indigenous howitzers is more than the original Bofors guns.
