Dead Air Deccan staffer's parents seek CBI probe

Parents of Sanskriti Sinha, an Air Deccan staffer, who was crushed to death under mysterious circumstances at Palam airport in New Delhi, demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the incident.

 

Sanskriti Sinha, 29, an aeronautical engineer with private airlines Air Deccan, died on Monday night on the airport premises in New Delhi, after being hit by a vehicle.

 

According to post-mortem report, she was crushed under a heavy vehicle as there were wheel marks on her head. The vehicle is yet to be identified, the police said.

 

Sensing foul play, her parents have demanded a CBI probe into her death.

 

"We want a CBI inquiry into her death," Sanskriti's father Arun Kumar Sinha, a professor in a government college near Patna, told rediff.com here on Wednesday.

 

Sinha questioned the theory of hit-and-run. "How

it could be possible that a staff was crushed to death despite wearing protection jackets," Sinha said.

 

"We know that our daughter was killed. Only a CBI inquiry will expose the truth behind her death," her mother Sheel Ambastha, a school teacher said.

 

Her body was brought to Patna on Tuesday night and the last rites will be performed on Wednesday.
