Is Dawood Ibrahim, defamed gangster and the man wanted by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai following the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, still in Pakistan?

Apparently, Dawood's daughter Mahrukh, married to Junaid Miandad, son of famous Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad, recently posted a status update on popular social networking website Facebook that her father is in Karachi, making waves in the web world.

Mahrukh currently stays with her husband and in-laws in Lahore.

On repeated earlier occasions, when the Union home ministry handed over the list of the wanted criminals to the Pakistan govenment, they promptly issued a denial that Dawood Ibrahim lived in Pakistan. Personal details regarding the whereabouts of Ibrahim have ever since been removed.

Officials of the home ministry are pleased at the developments, and they are likely to forward her personal details and apparent whereabouts of Dawood Ibrahim to the Pakistan government.

In her profile, Mahrukh also talked about Kashmiris living outside Kashmir.

"Now we can present Mahrukh's personal write-ups as piece of evidence which the government of Pakistan would not be in a position to deny," a high ranking official in the home ministry told rediff.com
