Curfew was lifted on Friday from Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore town, which witnessed mob violence last week, following an improvement in the situation.
The curfew, imposed in parts of Sopore last Saturday and then extended to the entire town on Monday, was withdrawn at 1800 hrs, official sources said. As soon as curfew was lifted, life in the town returned to normal fast as people went about buying essential commodities and vehicles were back on the roads. However, security forces are keeping a strict watch on the situation. Senior ministers of the state are also camping in the town.
