The Ghaziabad police has registered a criminal case against a self-styled godman for allegedly kidnapping a 28-year-old MBA girl.

Anoop Kumar Sahay was arrested after the girl's mother Sudha Srivastava filed a complaint on Saturday in Kavi Nagar police station in Ghaziabad.

Sudha, in her complaint, alleged that Sahay used to come to her house and had offered to marry her daughter, but the matter could not be materialised.

Sahai had claimed that he was a member of advisory board of a government ministry and has an ashram in Rishikesh.

On February 15, the girl, Priyanka, went out in the evening, but did not return after that.

The police found Sahai's house in Pratap Vihar locked.

The police has formed a special team to investigate the case and recover the girl. A team has also been sent to Rishikesh.
