Bangalore: Wife bites top cop, complains to police

March 13, 2008 22:07 IST

An unusual complaint by one of their bosses seeking protection from his wife, whom he alleged that she bit him and threatened to stab him has baffled the Jeevanbhimangar police and other top police brass in Bangalore.

As the country was in the midst of celebrating international women's day, ADGP Sushanth Mahapatra filed a complaint before the Jeevanbhimanagar police on March 8 that on March 7, his wife Sadhana bit him on the left arm and cheek and rushed towards him with a knife in hand with an intention to stab him.

Interestingly, Mahapatra is heading the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement wing as ADGP and is currently staying at his mother's foster-daughter in the wake of sharp differences between him and wife.

A police official attached to Jeevanbhimanagar police station said, "It is a minor issue. We are yet to decide on what action should be taken. It is a family matter."
