Congress MLA creates ruckus in MP assembly

March 20, 2012 00:48 IST

Congress member of parliament Kalpana Parulekar on Monday created ruckus in the Madhya Pradesh assembly during question hour by raising the issue of her arrest in the previous session.

She was arrested for allegedly morphing the photograph of the State Lokayukta with the RSS Head Mohan Bhagwat during the winter session.

The Congress member of Legislative Assembly tried to raise the issue in the house on Monday but Parliamentary Affairs minister, Narottam Mishra objected to it on the ground that no issue could be raised in the house during question hour. The Speaker also agreed with the Minister's stand.

Later during zero hour when she raised the issue again, the Speaker expunged all her remarks on the ground that she was speaking without the chair's permission.

When Parulekar said that she had given notice to the Speaker as per the rules of the house, Rohani said that he would give reply to her.

Later, Parulekar told reporters that if the Speaker did not respond to her notice within seven days, she would stage a sit-in in front of the Speaker's podium.

The Congress MLA was arrested by the State Criminal Investigation Department on February 3 for allegedly morphing the photograph of the State Lokayukta with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Head Mohan Bhagwat. She was released on bail on March 16 by the Madhya Pradesh high court.
