Bihar Congress announced on Sunday that they will oppose senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani's anti- corruption 'Jan Chetna Yatra' due to commence from Sitab Diara in Saran district on October 11 by showing black flags.
Congress Member of Parliament and the party co-in charge of Bihar affairs Sanjay Nirupam said in Patna that the party will oppose Advani's yatra in the state.
"Congress workers will show black flags to Advani to protest his yatra, which has a hidden agenda. Corruption is only a mask," the All India Congress Committee secretary said.
Nirupam said that Congress workers will also ask questions to Advani during his yatra. "Congress workers will seek reply from Advani on several issues related to corruption in which his party and his allies, including Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United, is involved," he said.
Advani's yatra will be flag off by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from Sitab Diara, the birth place of Jai Prakasah Narain.
Chief of Bihar's main opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal Lalu Prasad has also announced to lead a march in Patna against Advani's yatra on October 11.
It was Lalu who ordered the arrest of Advani in Samastipur district of Bihar during his rath yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya for Ram Mandir in 1990.
The state wing of the Communist Party of India-Marxist has also announced to protest against Advani's yatra by staging dharna. The Nationalist Congress Party and Bihar Nav Nirman Morcha have also expressed similar plans.
