Cong hasn't said anything on 2G scam, says DMK

November 12, 2010 21:21 IST

On the day that Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief M Karunanidhi defended Telecom Minister A Raja and ruled out his resignation, the DMK said there is neither "pressure" nor any communication from the Congress on the 2G spectrum issue and asserted that ties between the two parties are strong.

DMK Rajya Sabha MP and Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi said ties between her party and Congress are "very good and strong".

"Nothing that I really know of. But there is complete understanding between the Congress and the DMK," she said when asked whether there was any communication from the Congress to take action against Raja.

About the CAG report, Kanimozhi said the Department of Telecommunications has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court.

"The entire issue is in the court. That kind of pressure is not on the DMK (from Congress)," she told a television channel.

On All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief Jayalalithaa's offer of support to the United Progressive Alliance, she said it was for the allies of the former Tamil Nadu chief minister to take note of.
