Chidambaram in 2G scam? BJP claims proof

Last updated on: June 08, 2011 15:20 IST

Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Gadkari has told a television news channel that he has 'evidence' against Home Minister P Chidambaram's involvement in 2G spectrum scam.

In an interview to Deepak Chaurasia, political editor of Star News channel, Gadkari said: "I will soon file a First Information Report and will ask the Central Bureau of Investigation to act against home minister."

He said the 'impropriety' done by Chidambaram must be investigated.

Currently, the Joint Parliamentary Committee is investigating the 2G spectrum case.

Public Accounts Committee chairman Murli Manohar Joshi has also challenged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to dismiss the ministers involved in the scam.

Without naming Chidambaram, Joshi had hinted that 'four cabinet ministers were directing PAC members to behave in a particular manner within the committee'.

"They circulated notes and made telephone calls to PAC members when a meeting was taking place," Joshi had said.
