September 19, 2014 08:13 IST

Many call her Asia’s Michelle Obama. Considered to be a style icon, China’s First Lady Peng Liyuan also topped Vanity Fair’s list of International best dressed women in 2013.

In India, accompanying her husband China’s President Xi Jinping on a three-day visit, she has won many hearts with her style and elegance.  During the Ahmedabad leg of her visit, Peng changed her clothes twice, displaying her chic, elegant and beautiful style.

Earlier in the day, when she landed in Ahmedabad, China’s First Lady wore a pretty pink dress, popularized by Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy. The kneelength dress had a flowy scarf stitched to one side. She accessorized her look with a white clutch, cream pearl studs and beige suede heels. Photograph: MEA/Flickr

China’s First Lady wowed all by her sartorial choices when she arrived in Delhi and during their visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan. While meeting President Pranab Mukherjee, she wore a knee-length printed skirt with a white top and a smart, tailored white blazer and accessorized the suit with an interesting brooch. She also doesn’t shy away from tradition and is often seen in traditional attire. In March, during her visit to Amsterdam, she wore a traditional-cut Chinese jacket with floral trim and teamed it with a long minty gown. PhotographToussaint Kluiters/United Photos/Reuters

During Michelle Obama’s visit to China, a lot of press was generated about the fashion wars. Posing outside the Forbidden City, Peng Liyuan cut a formal and elegant figure in her sharp, tailored outfit -- a belted jacket and skirt and a pair of high-heeled lace-up shoes and a bright red clutch.
