The Central Bureau of Investigation, which is expected to interrogate former Gujarat minister of state for home Amit Shah in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, has built up a watertight case, agency sources have told rediff.com.
The central agency, which was granted permission by the court to interrogate Shah in prison, has done its homework before it goes ahead with the interrogation.
Sources said that the CBI had questioned Shah's friends and also those close to him in connection with this case. Also, the agency has spoken to informants in the case.
The CBI has prepared an extensive questionnaire. The interrogation is expected to last several hours; may even go on for over to a couple of days.
In the process of building up its case against Amit Shah, the CBI has found information on the manufacturers of the controversial sleazy CD, which involved top BJP leader Sanjay Joshi.
Meanwhile, legal experts, who have been interacting with the family members of Shah, have questioned the timing of the bail plea.
Shah's counsel Ram Jethmalani has said that he would move the court seeking bail on August 2. Legal experts feel that Shah's team should have waited for the confessional statement of former DSP N K Amin, a co-accused in the Sohrabuddin encounter case.
