Goa police investigating an allegation against famous pop singer Remo Fernandes that he threatened a minor girl, have sought CCTV footage of the ward at Goa Medical College Hospital where the incident took place.
"We have written to the medical superintendent of GMC with a request to provide detailed list of staff on duty and the CCTV footage of that day," police sub-inspector Harish Raut-Desai told a local court on Monday.
The Goa Children's Court had issued a notice to the police seeking details of the investigation.
The girl, who was injured after being hit by a car allegedly driven by Remo's son, was admitted to ward number 105 of GMC. According to her, Remo, when he visited her in the hospital, threatened her using abusive language.
Remo, who is at present in Europe, hasn't appeared before the police so far. He has denied the allegation.
Police also recorded statement of a patient who was on the bed next to the victim girl at the time of the incident, Desai said.
The Goa state commission for protection of child rights had also sought a detailed investigation report by December 31.
Desai also assured the court today that there was no "political interference" in the investigation.
