The hour-long one-on-one meeting between Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and United States President George W Bush in the capital's Hyderabad House has ended.
The talks began shortly after Bush's ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and his visit to Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.
The two leaders shook hands and posed for photographs before going in for the talks, which were held amidst hopes of narrowing differences and clinching a deal for the implementation of the landmark July 18 nuclear agreement.
The global fight against terrorism, Iran's controversial nuclear programme and bilateral economic and trade issues are understood to have figured during the one-on-one and the delegation level talks.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns were present at the delegation level talks.
National Security Advisor M K Narayanan, Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran and other senior officials represented India.
