India and Pakistan on Tuesday held talks on the launch of Amritsar-Lahore bus service, that links the two Punjabs, official sources said.
An Indian delegation of transport officials headed by Secretary Transport Alok Rawat held the talks with their Pakistani counterparts.
The two countries had agreed in principle to run the bus during President Pervez Musharraf's visit to India last month. The talks would end on Wednesday.
The two countries already run bus services between Lahore and New Delhi and Srinagar to Muzaffarabad and a train service between Lahore and Attari in Punjab.
An Indian Coast Guard delegation led by Chief Vice Admiral A K Singh also held talks with Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency officials, on establishment of communication links between the two sides.
They also discussed liberalising of procedures to release fishermen who stray into each others' waters and ways to educate fishermen about maritime boundaries and coordinate search and rescue at sea.
Hundreds of fishermen from both the countries are nabbed every year by the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency off Gujarat and Karachi coasts.
The two sides discussed possible exchange of information on other important maritime aspects like natural disasters, pollution incidents, smuggling and illicit drug trafficking.
